Hello!
My name is Claire Diss and I am 12 years old. I raise rabbits, lambs, and pigs. My lamb’s name is Bart. He loves animal crackers, hay, and frosted cheerios.
This is my 5th year in 4-H, but my first in raising lambs. I really love animals, and 4-H has given me the opportunity to learn about and own so many of them. I’ve learned a lot about raising the animals I show like what it takes to produce a product I am proud of (my 2024 pigs placed 2nd AND 3rd in the Meat Quality Assessment Class!).
Unlike other kids, I don’t live on a ranch or farm and I am not able to keep lambs or pigs at my own home. I’ve been lucky enough to get a spot in the ‘Red Barn’ which has given me this amazing opportunity. I will forever be thankful to the Jr. Livestock Auction Committee, Eagle County, and the Eagle County CSU Extension for providing kids like me such a welcoming space to do something I love.
