My name is Dagny Bartlett, and this is my third year in 4H as part of the Sweetwater Bandits club. I am currently raising market goats and market Guinea fowl for this year's Eagle County Jr. Livestock Auction. My siblings and I have been breeding and raising Boer goats for a few years now, and I love the responsibility of learning how to care for them. This is the first year that I have raised Guinea fowl, a native bird to Africa. It has truly been amazing watching them mature and change so quickly. I have read that Guineas are a dark meat in comparison to most poultry, so I'm excited to see the results. As a 7th generation Eagle County resident, I am excited to enter Eagle Valley High School this year as a 9th grader to explore my options for college and career paths. I love and appreciate all the support and opportunities this community provides because it makes it easy to be proud of where I live.
