Howdy!  MAN, I FEEL SO BLESSED TO BE PART OF THE 4H PROGRAM AND THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING 4H.  My name is August Thompson.  I’m 11 years old. This is my fourth year doing 4H. In the past I did sheep and Poultry, but  This year I learned about two new animals: raising swine and steer.  one thing I have learned is you have to get up and feed your animals rain or shine, even if it's -15 degrees in the snow!!! My pig, Phil, is a Yorkshire, and my steer, Buddy, is a shorthorn semintal.  I’m glad Buddy won 2nd in market in his class at the Jules Jackpot last month,  but I believe he has a great chance at 1st with the Eagle County fair.  I’ve learned a LOT this year, sometimes it's been hard but it taught me a lot about hard work, perseverance, and friendship. I have raised a juicy and muscular steer and a meaty pig.  I hope to see you there. Thanks for supporting 4H!
