One of the keys to our success has always been combining proven genetics lines. After seeing the successful influence of +Cross Fire 02/2 in our herd, which produced ECC El Caporal 301, we took the opportunity to purchase some direct daughters of this sire to combine with our Polled herd sires with one of the daughters we purchased being the dam to ECC Polled Rio Queen 699/2 (P). The dam to 699/2 is not only by the Register of Renown herd sire +Cross Fire, but also incorporates the Vanguard Sire (+)JDH Mr. Charley Manso with the 2001 International Champion, +Miss V8 780/5. We elaborate on the dam side of this pedigree as you likely are already aware of the sire’s influence as he was a National Show Class Winner, a full brother to the many-time winner, and our premier donor, LMC ECC LF Polled Lolo 127/4, a maternal half-brother to ECC Polled Maverick 302/9, and one of our top young herd sires. As you might expect from such a proven pedigree, 699/2 ranks in the Top 1/4 of the breed for Growth indicators, Top 40% for Ribeye Area, and Top 15% for Marbling. Although we love the combination of bone, body and femininity in this show prospect, we think her true value will be as an influential breeding piece due to the essentials of performance, pedigree, phenotype and POLLED!
